Description |
The Alamosa High School Band of 1941. This picture was taken behind the old High School that was located where Safeway is now. The band was on the football field, no grass, just dirt and rocks, The track where the majorette is standing was cinders. In spite of the conditions the football teams produced winners; the track teams were successful - Note the bleachers! theuy were joyously filled at every event!! by the way, the band also won in many competitions! In the back row of the photo three people are listed. Lois Bean ( now Moeny) Hazel Bean ( now Petty) and Kenneth Bean. Verne Tingle was the director. |
